Yes No Blog

yesnoblog.com is my latest project. It’s an idea i’ve had for quite some time.

The concept is simple - I review sites/ tool / general webmaster stuff and give them a ‘yes’ or ‘no’ verdict. No affiliate links or paid reviews as i want to keep it 100% unbiased (There might be ads on the site but they’ll be seperate to content).

So the hope is that i’ll build up honest reviews on a huge collection of tools and sites and i’m hoping the black and white, honest nature of the site will go down well with readers.

There’ll also be a similar site on the scene possibly tomorrow - almost an exact clone of yesnoblog.com only working in a slightly different niche. If all goes well, i might build a mini network of ‘yes no’ type sites.

Believe it or not, i’ve actually set up over 20 new sites in the past few days… I’ve installed wordpress on them all, found themes, customized the skins slightly, added all my favourite plugins.

It took me 2 full days just to find a simple theme that i liked the look of and that was SEO’d, ready for ads wasn’t ridiculously over the top in it’s ad placements.

I couldn’t find one, so i had to modify an existing theme and fully SEO it. By SEO it, i mean changing logo’s to plain text, moving dynamic content from right to left, getting rid of some unnecessary ad slots etc… The reason i went to so much trouble is because these sites are part of my ‘jackpot’ network.

I’ve also put together more solid plans for that skydive contest. I’ve decided to go ahead with it - 100%. It’ll probably be the only time in my life i’ll have the time and health to do this and not have to worry about it. Yes it’s going to be a hell of a lot of organizing (especially when i’ve never held a contest online before), but it is for a good cause and from my point of view it’s a once in a lifetime shot at something.

So stay tuned for more details on that…

you might want to fix your tage …. “yesboblog”

and the width of your yes/no blog changes in my browser …

e.g. home and contact pages are different widths.

have a nice day …. :)

oops …. comment came up twice …. i thought it hadn’t worked … feel free to edit/delete/chomp/devour etc.

cheers LB - fixed the tag problem, i’ll see if i can do anything with the contact page, no big deal though (in FF3 anyway)

“EIther way, those books are extremely useful and are written by people who know they’re shit.”
