Stats the way i like it!

In January of this year, i published smemon.com’s traffic stats for 2007 - my first full year as a blogger. In 2007, i had 24,607 visits, 41,945 pageviews.

With well over 4 months left in 2008, i’ve already smashed 2007’s stats;

I suppose RSS subscribers are the real acid test of how good a blog is and unfortunately the growth there hasn’t been as sharp, but it has *still* been rising - all be it slowly. I’ve never pushed for more RSS subscribers on this blog, but that’ll be changing soon…

off to a flying start

Google Analytics have been installed less than 24 hours on BeerChief, yet they’re already showing 120 unique visitors, and over 1000 page impressions.

That’s a pretty good start considering the site has restricted access! I keep saying it, but we’ve yet to promote it. I’d say we’re at about 5% promotion throttle…. 95% left in the tank which means the site’s gonna explode once it’s opened up to the public, and that’s not even taking in to account the fact we’ve got some massive new features lined up

Day 2, and we’ve already made over a dozen changes and fixed 2 or 3 bugs. We’re also planning some huge changes - the sort of changes that will really give us a ‘world class’ edge.

If you think BeerChief is a nice site at the minute, you ain’t seen nothin’ yet I’m now extremely confident we can go on to dominate the whole Beer social network niche. If we continue to act on feedback like we’re doing, there won’t be any problems. Keeping the work ethic up is the tough part, but then again i don’t consider it work when i’m not working for anyone or taking orders or don’t have set time

Stats my blog

This is my 666th blog post, so i guess it’s compulsary to add in this little smiley

It’s also the perfect opportunity to let me fill you in on a few stats.

Out of the 666 posts i’ve done, 20 are sponsored, meaning sponsored posts account for 3.6% of overall blog posts. This is an important stat for me. I’ve taken a bit of flack from various places over sponsored posts, and i hope that this statistic will keep a few people quiet as i’ve always maintained i’m not in blogging for the money alone and think that goes a long to way to prooving it. I could easily have doubled that figure had i accepted any old review i got offered, but i always try and keep them on topic.

Anyway…

• I’ve 429 posts under my ‘work’ category, with 219 under ‘play’ (some are filed under both so thats why the figures may be slightly out).

• My blog word count has also hit the 150,000 word mark, which is pretty incredible. I’ve been blogging 1 year next week.

• Alexa rank continues to rise at 164,085.

• With PayPerPost, i’m now an illusive 4 star (previously 3 and max available is 5), which means advertisers are pleased with the quality of their reviews.

• Technorati Rank is 147,290, with 93 fans.

• Last and DEFINITELY least is pagerank of 2.

So yet again, things are heading in the right direction.

To celebrate a year of blogging i’ve a new custom design on the way, which i’m very excited about. I’m hoping to have it in time for next week, when it will be my official blog birthday, but the main thing is that it’s on the way
