sexing up my blog network

I’ve done a lot of work today, working with the fabulous new options theme from Justin Tadlock. I can’t tell you how easy this theme is to work with - it helps convert a blog in to a full blown magazine/newspaper style site.
Although i’m still working to add and tweak things, you can see what this theme is capable of on theleavingcert.com and manutdinfo.com.
I’ve almost completed work on theleavingcert.com - transforming it over from joomla to wordpress. In the end, i decided to scrap trying to integrate the old joomla based forum and just modified bbpress slightly (a free forum plugin for wordpress). I’m fairly happy with the results.
It will be interesting to see how traffic pans out on this. It averaged about 50 uniques a day using Joomla, i reckon i can improve SEO and get even more traffic using wordpress. I hope to push 100 uniques a day, especially in the run up to the actual leaving cert exams in June. You can see walsho is cutting back online in order to fuel his leaving cert studies, so no doubt he’ll be looking for help and notes and probably stumble upon theleavingcert.com on his way
I then decided to pimp out manutdinfo.com. I think it looks pretty sweet, and if i can continue to blog regularly on it and resist the temptation to sell it, i should have a quality sites on my hands which can start earning monthly revenue through sporting affiliate programmes or even betting related sites. That’s down the line though, i need to build content and traffic first.
At long last, i’ve found a free wordpress theme which does everything i want it to do and more ![]()
