That’s right, all of my domains and sites have been valued at $10,870 which is about €7,300
The biggest disappointment is that this blog is valued at $5,000, almost half that total
I used a handy little tool called estibot to estimate the value of all my domains and sites…
I found it to be quite accurate… for example it valued several of my domains at reg fee – which is what they are worth in my eyes as i haven’t done anything with them. Normally, these sort of ‘value my site’ things end up giving out ridiculous results, but i found estibot to be *fairly* accurate.
It valued jpegr at $1,500 which is fair, very fair, in fact, scary fair because that’s what i had valued it myself at not so long ago
ufade.com, which i just bought was valued at $20, which again is very accurate imo as i did say i thought it was worth more than reg fee (i didn’t mean thousands, but i knew it was too good to turn down as i would get my money back + profit eventually).
So that’s a flavour of how accurate estibot is… the valuation of smemon.com will be laughed at by some i’m sure
$5000 for the site, $30 for the domain. However, it does have almost 250,000 words, approaching 800 posts and unique visitors approaching 4k a month.
Even at that, i’ll concede i would never value smemon.com at $5k probably because i never think of selling it and don’t attach a financial value to it like i do 99% of my other sites, but then again, $5k is nothing for the amount of work i put in to it… when you think about it, i probably spend on average an hour a day on it, every day. Add in the custom theme, RSS readers, SEO, link building etc… and i can see where the $5k would come from.
But smemon.com isn’t for sale
and never will be either unless i decide to pack it all in one day and change career paths, which is highly unlikely
So i’m valued at over $10k at the minute online, which is nice… considering i haven’t really gotten any mega projects off the ground yet

Thanks for the tip on estibot. I ran a bunch of my sites through too. Most seemed about right – but a few were a little high i think. I hope not
I think it is a bit high. You domain is only worth what someone will pay for it. I checked Cash Quests http://estibot.com/results.php?domain=www.cashquests.com and it said it was worth $56k, but it sold for $15k. Do take results with a grain of salt. It says that my site is worth $7.5k, but I’d probably sell it for 1/3 of that.
yeah i think blog prices are inflated somewhat on estibot… i guess they don’t factor in the fact blogs are personal and thus their value is shot to hell -v- say a news site or social networking site where the content is of a general nature.
It’s nice to get an estimate all the same but as already said, the value is based on what someone else can do with it or what revenue is already being generated on the site.
