Since September, i’ve basically been busy with college. Not much time spent online although having said that, i’ve managed to flip a few sites, get involved in some competitions and run one of my own.
I’ve learned a bit about video editing (well, a lot actually) and i’ve also learned the basics in javascript. So i’m now beginning to combine college and my online work… i’m now REALLY learning useful stuff which i WILL use in the real world.
Anyway, coming up to Christmas, i’ll have a bit of free time. I’ve a week off to ’study’ from the 8-15th December followed by a week of exams taking me up to the 22nd December. From then on i’ve got about 3/4 weeks off until i go back in late January.

That’s a lot of time off and there’s no way i’ll be sitting about relaxing. Although the next 2 or 3 weeks will be extremely busy for me at college, here’s what i have planned over the christmas break;
So there’s a lot to get through. One of the more interesting things on that list is my jackpot network. I’ve still yet to add content to any of those sites yet they’re all indexed despite zero backlinks. It’ll be very interesting to see what sort of traffic they can get from google and i’ll try to develop one first of all to test the waters. This Geansai Gorm competition has helped me a great deal in terms of SEO.
Other thing of note is probably the netbook. I’ll be at college for 4-5 months next semester, probably 9-5 with loads of breaks during the day like i have at the minute. It’s time wasted as quite often there are no free classes i can go in to that have decent PC’s. The network can take up to 5 minutes to log on and due to the fact lecturers are never on time, you don’t know if there is a class on in a room or not. So you can never relax and get stuck in to work as you may be kicked out at any stage.
The library is available, yes, but it’s too formal. At times you have to ‘book’ a computer and can only do ‘work’ as in college work. It’s a bit too ‘big brother’ for me. The canteen is probably the best solution or else free lecture rooms. No computers there though… At the minute though, i need a laptop in with me plus i need power sockets as my battery only lass 20 minutes
If take in my laptop, someone else will be hogging the power…. if i don’t take in my laptop, the plugs are lying idle – typical really… So it is time wasted and i don’t like that. A netbook which is light, has a 6 hour + battery life and is relatively powerful for it’s size would do the job nicely and at the minute, the samsung nc10 at about €350 looks to be the perfect match.
