I was thinking of possibly launch days for BeerChief and this question arose in my head.. what is the busiest day on the internet?
So i did a bit of research and it pretty much confirmed what i would have thought – Monday seems to be the busiest day with traffic gradually falling all week with Saturday and Sunday being the poorest days from a business/traffic point of view.
This makes sense to me. On a Monday, people are back at work or school or whatever… they’re depressed, maybe recovering from a busy weekend, generally not interested in working and looking for something to keep them entertained and take their mind off the fact they’ve the whole week ahead. That’s how i would see it anyway.
So from our point of view, a Monday would be the best day to launch BeerChief as it could grease the wheels of our viral marketing more so than any other day. By the following Saturday night, people will have had a chance to judge/play with BeerChief all week and hopefully spread it virally in pubs/clubs etc…
At the end of the day a good site will be successful regardless of the day it launched or minor details like that, so maybe i’m just being too cautious and over doing it. But from our point of view, we want to maximise exposure as early on as possible. So any little detail that can help us on our way, we’ll use it.
These are the sort of things you don’t think about as a normal browser, but when the shoe is on the other foot, all of a sudden you find yourself debating about fine details like this and hence the delays and set backs. I’ve no doubt we’re over-doing things, but then again that can’t be a bad thing
Rome wasn’t built in a day
