Beaten by Brazil

It was a long day yesterday for me.

An hour driving up to college, an hour back home…

Then 2 hours driving up to dublin, 2 hours driving back home

Shattering stuff… hence the post on how to cure tiredness

It was all for the game against Brazil, which being honest, was a pretty poor match. We lost 1-0. They were the better side though and Ireland struggled to create anything. Too defensive and at times, 11 men behind the ball. We don’t have the skill to carry the ball down the pitch, so it would make more sense to always keep a target man up front, just to provide an option and stretch the opposition.

Brazil were hammering us down the flanks and i got the impression they could have turned on the style if they wanted to, but played within themselves and i noticed usually played the ball to feet and not in to space – as if to say – this is a friendly, we’re not going to kill ourselves in an effort to attack and win.

Ireland on the other hand did seem to be fairly well organised and seemed up for it, but just didn’t have the quality to get past people and sustain any pressure.
