wifimapper.com goes live

It might not be able to compete with similar sites in terms of content, but wifimapper.com is certainly looking the part (digs and twists knife in to wififreespot.com).

wifimapper.com screeenshot

wifimapper.com has been in the works for a few weeks on and off. It’s one for the future, and definitely one i plan on developing further. Wi-Fi is important and hotels, airports, restaurants, buses etc… all underestimate it’s ability to pull in customers.

Viewed as a luxury today for many, it’s going to become a necessity tomorrow for those same people whether they like it or not. If i can work my magic on SEO and pull in some traffic, i’ll be able to see how much potential this niche has and that may speed up or slow down it’s progress but progress there will be in any case.

  • Beer
  • Education
  • Wi-Fi
  • Golf
  • Idea Generation
  • Movies
  • Charity
  • Many more…

Nobody can accuse me of being one dimensional when it comes to niche websites  This is an important summer for me and i’m eager to impress myself by the time september swings around. So far, things have gone well and i’m in top form.

The big one is still BeerChief though and work won’t start on that until (probably) late July. But there’ll be plenty of preparatory work going in to it and plenty of offline work too so by the time september swings around, it’ll be all systems go.

A few months ago, i avoided photoshop and design in general like the plague. If i wanted a logo designed, i would pay someone to do it for me. These days i’m designing for fun and in some cases, getting paid to do it  Ever since i sat down and read that ‘photoshop for dummies‘ book, i’ve gotten to grips with it at last and i’m now teaching myself new things on a daily basis.

Anyway, today is wifimapper.com‘s day in the limelight…

would u not turn theleavingcert.com into just a forum? i mean you dont have to put the content up yourself, let others do it. With that much traffic you're bound to get people posting and asking each other for help.

take this forum for example: http://www.educationposts.ie/forum/index.php

    just a thought

it’s something i’ve thought about but there are a lot of other leaving cert sites that are forums and none of them compete with boards.ie…. so although it seems like a good, logical idea, it’s hit and miss… forums are one of the most difficult types of sites to start up because you need not just one person to work hard – you need 5 or 6+ to be posting daily and regularly…
