Today, i decided i’d build another small niche site and i’ll be doing it ‘publicly’ this time.Having booked plenty of hotels online for myself and other people, i’m well aware of how frustrating it can be trying to get the best deal possible. Priceline & lastminute.com to name but two, both have a ‘secret’ hotels section where you don’t find out what hotel you’re staying in until you pay for it.

By booking it ‘blind’, you get a cheaper rate. Certain hotels don’t like to sell hotel rooms too cheaply on their official sites, so they offer them at reduced rates to the likes of lastminute.com and pricline.com in a desperate attempt to fill the rooms and get something, rather than leave them empty for the night and get nothing.

The downside to this for us, the consumer, is that we don’t know what we’re getting. We know the ‘star’ rating of the hotel and the general location but that’s really it. If you’re smart though you’ll be able to figure out what the name of the secret hotel is. I do it all the time…. so the secret hotels are no longer ‘secrets’ and that way you can get the best bang for the buck deal going.

So this new site will aim to reveal the secret hotels so you can grab a bargain I’ve literally just bought the domain name 10 minutes ago… It’s ‘hotelsrevealed.com’.

First of all, i went to instantdomainsearch.com and came up with a few names – this one was free so i grabbed it on godaddy.

Not quite sure how i’ll go about developing it, but i’ll have figured that out by tomorrow It’ll probably just be a tried and testing wordpress blog with a nice customized theme… expect a logo tomorrow and more progress on this one.
