sacked.me looking like a good buy?

Last year, when the .me extensions came out, i picked up a few. Have yet to do anything with them but i knew i’d have 2 years to come up with something before they expired.

Sacked.me is looking like a shrewd buy. There’s no better time to get that domain out there and in to the public eye. A global recession is good for sacked.me’s value.

Right now, i have a pretty simple idea in mind for it and i’m going to try and investigate it more – see if i can pull it off by myself. If any of you guys have ideas or suggestions for it let me know :-)

I’m DEFINITELY going to keep it as simple as possible – i don’t want it turning in to another huge project which requires oodles of cash and time.

But the domain alone has potential and there’s no better time to launch it

You could use an auto subdomain function to create a portal for employees sacked by a organisation – dell.sacked.me where those who were let go in Limerick could contribute.

Or use it as somewhere for people to let off some steam in a Father Ted’s “Henry Sellers” type way they.sacked.me

Probably some legal implications in there somewhere.

Cheers Barry – i remember when i bought it, the subdomain idea was the first thing that stood out for me…

Allowing people to let off steam against ex employers isn’t something i’d be comfortable with though – i’d need legal advice on that one and it would just be too much hassle…

But that raises an interesting question – can you legally use a trademark in a subdomain? If so, it might open up a few doors for me.

Actually, that would be really messy as you can’t use a trademark term in a domain name, otherwise it would be a cypersquatting nightmare.
