BeerChief has been my biggest project to date. It will probably be the biggest project i’ll ever undertake. Over the next few weeks it will be ‘complete’ – as in the first stage of a long and winding road will be complete. It will then launch publicly sometime around September.
Apart from that, blog has also become a pretty huge place (content wise) over the past couple of years. I never thought i’d have the discipline to keep it going and keep blogging on a daily basis. But take out BeerChief, and i’ve yet to see a big project through from start to finish, from the ground up…
That’s going to change though. Over the next few weeks, expect to see groundrage.com morph in to reality. I mentioned it a couple of months ago and created this logo;
In fact, i’ve had the domain name since April, and the idea since as far back as January believe it or not. Much like BeerChief, the idea and niche hasn’t lost any sparkle and i still believe it will work. I also believe i can whip this site up in virtually no time at all.
I haven’t mentioned what the site will be about, you can probably have a good guess from the name and logo though. Investment wise, i’ll probably only need only a couple of hundred dollars to outsource the coding of a template. I’m well capable of designing something myself. I’ll also be using open source software to run the site.
This will also be a longer term project – it’s not something i’ll sell right away as i’d be doing myself no favours. It’s too valuable to sell straight away, i believe i can dominate this niche in search engines and the only way i can do that is by holding on to the site and making sure it’s kept alive with fresh content.
To the best of my knowledge, a site like this doesn’t exist, and the others in this niche are past their sell by date – old, ugly and static.
So i’m looking for a nice, clean, funky design. Mixed with a simple idea, an obvious niche and something which can potentially help people or give them advice, so it’s looking pretty good for GroundRage.
I’ll try to come up with a design this week, in between my 3 sites a week challenge.
