auction ends in failure

My sitepoint auction has ended with a highest bid of $120. My reserve was $600 and the BIN was $750.

Almost from the moment i put it up, i knew i’d be regretting it as i got several pm’s asking to buy individual sites but due to sitepoint’s TOS, i couldn’t sell them. So that was a lesson learned – never sell packages on sitepoint

It’s $20 ‘wasted’ as i haven’t got a sale, but hopefully i’ll have gotten one or two sites sold privately due to the attention the auction got. I’ve yet to head to digitalpoint, so the rest will probably be sold there.

I may not get the $750 i’d aimed for, but i’m still confident i won’t be short too much. Ideally i’d like to have all of these sites off my shoulders by the end of the month.

I’ll be launching my ebook next week and i’ll need plenty of time to handle sales and questions on it, so it’ll be a busy week. Lucky it’s RAG week in college – basically a piss up session all week where classes are technically on, but not much work will be done

I’ll head in for a couple of days and probably take wednesday, thursday and friday off – just because i can  I’m very happy with my progress in college this semester. I’m on top of everything and rattling out the assignments as quick as i’m getting them thanks to my zero tolerence policy which i’m sticking to

My only problem is focusing – it’s too easy just to drift through a class, miss a whole load of new stuff, then you’re left playing catch up. But i’m determined not to let college beat me this semester as it got a head start of me last semester – i’m definitely looking to eclipse last semester’s average of 71% – i must aim for 100% rather than 40% as that’s the only way i’ll push myself.

Off topic question … your purchase of two 20″ monitors …. reasoning etc. ? I’m watching to purchase a pc …. looking at a souped up Dell XPS with a 24″ monitor …. I’m getting into web design …..

well, it’s all about preference really…

the human eyes read things left to right in a widsescreen like format, so it makes sense to go wide, rather than up.

if i got one big monitor i’d be giving myself more width, but also more height. that height is sort of wasted after a certain stage as my room/desk is only so big.

so i’d prefer the height of a 20″ monitor with the width of two put together as it gives me more room to spread windows out and put documents side by side etc..

sounds reasonable ….. thanks for that!
