more ads on bebo
Today i noticed a nice fat leaderboard ad on bebo profiles;

Obviously this is the highest profile location you can put an ad – unless they move it above the nav menu.
Getting dangerously close to myspace now, with all of these flash ads and too many widgets and apps. Ah well, all the better for me as it will give BeerChief a little edge over the competition and maybe we can pick up one or two more members because of it
As most of you know, i’m not rich by any means
But any cash i do raise, mainly ends up back in projects or computer related stuff. I plan on (somehow) hitting $4k income by the summer. The vast majority of that will be re-invested into my online work in some shape or form.
Today, i was trying to put together a plan for summer when really i should have been concentrating in my maths lecture
I was doing some rough figures, and i reckon with 35 hours work, i could flip 5 sites a week for $300 minimum. And if i was feeling extra productive i could raise that to 10 sites per week and hit maybe $500. That’s about €200-350/week and i could comfortably live on that all summer – hell i wouldn’t get much, if anything more at a real job. It’s not ideal though, and very short-term, hard work. Putting my time in to one big site would be more useful, but then i’d have to let it mature etc and i really can’t wait 6 months for that.
VERY early days – it’s only January/February, but i think it’s healthy to start planning now. Assuming i have my office in place by the summer, i’ll have all the tools and power i need, it’s simply a case of sitting down, thinking and multi-tasking.
I’m busy ‘cleaning up’ certain sites with a view to selling them over the next few days.
I’m toying with the idea of bundling 6 or 7 sites together with a few domains and selling them as a package. Using sitepoint to sell, rather than DP or other forums.
Sitepoint is where the traffic and serious buyers are but at $20 a pop to list an auction, it wouldn’t make sense selling one of my small blog sites for maybe $60, as i’d lose out of the $20 it cost me to put it up.
Bundling sites together would ease the costs and it would also be much less hassle dealing with one person rather than 7 or 8 and trying to follow up funds, transfer to all sorts of different servers/accounts etc.
I’m hoping to raise about $750 with this new round of selling. I’ve also bought a featured ad listing on sedo.com for JPEGr and lowered the price expectation to around $2150. This cost $39 and means that jpegr.com will be listed on sedo’s homepage and randomly rotated for 30 days, plus top of it’s categories, so even if it doesn’t get any offers, it should get plenty of views and i’ll give out full statistics on that when i get them.
Many people feel a good domain will sell itself and paying for a featured spot is a waste of cash. It’s debateable. Sedo’s stats say a featured domain is 5 times more likely to sell than a non featured one. Having sold AuctionCrap though, i decided i’d use the cash to promote my other sites as it could be a wise move. I’ll just have to wait and see…
That’s not the selling price, it’s a recommendation, so it still leaves me open to offers. If the offer is right, i’ll accept. If not, i may lower the price on sedo slightly and if still unsuccessful i’ll add it to sitepoint.
All in all, i’m definitely looking at around $2k+ for all. Whether i get that or not is another question. I’ll link to all auctions as i set them up
Needless to say, preparing these sites for selling (cleaning up themes and customizing them a bit) has sort of put my ebook on ice for the time being. But any chance i get i’m still slowly but surely adding to it. I have it on my usb key and open it up at college any chance i get
It’s been a nice few days for me online.
Firstly, i sold auctioncrap.com for $30 – my first website sold since i started this blog. Although i was disappointed not to get a little more, it has given me the confidence to keep setting up sites and trying to make something of them.
I then set about creating a mamoth ebook on how to make money online. Now if you’re like me, you’ll have seen (and bought) some ebooks which promise to deliver x amount for the low price of $7 or something.
In fairness to some of these writers, i have seen one or two genuinely decent ebooks and how-to guides. Ebooks just have a bad name and it’sin ord unfortunate there’s no sort of standards or quality guidelines to adere to in order to seperate the ‘hit and run’ type ebook writer from the genuine ebook writer. Difference between the two is that one writes an ebook for cash and doesn’t give a hoot about reputation or feedback or helping people, and the other is the complete opposite.
I’ve had some positive comments which is always nice plus people offering to help out. I’ll definitely let some of you guys tear this ebook to shreds (verbally) when i get it all done and dusted.
As things stand, here’s where i’m at;

13 pages of pure text, containing almost 6,500 words. And that’s me trying to narrow it down. I simply cannot stop writing on certain topics and end up cutting loads of bits out, trying to re-word two or three lines in to one. But that’s a good thing.
By the time i’m finished, this ebook will be around 10,000 words and probably 40+ pages. If it starts off well and gets positive reviews early on, i may go all-in and assault msn, yahoo and google ads, seeing if i can boost sales.
For that reason, i’ll probably give the ebook it’s own site.
Anyway, i also have to thank LordBloggit who casually contacted me by email saying he’d a spare rapidshare account and he wanted me to have it
500mb’s downloaded so far and i’m only just getting started, so cheers LordBloggit
I’ve spent the last couple of hours working hard on my new ebook. There’s no way i can do this in a few days or in a week but i’ll battle on and do as much as i can this week.
I’m over 5,000 words in and 5 pages of pure text. The thing is, i’m only about 1/3 complete
By the time i add in pictures and tidy everything up, this is gonna be one monster ebook.
The quality though will be top notch. It will be easily worth whatever price i charge for it. I’m thinking $10-15 at the minute, but i’ll have to research further and hold off setting a price until i read the complete ebook as a reader would.
The links alone will be worth the price i charge, never mind the advice and train of thought i’ll be putting people in.
So i’m on the verge of one kick ass ebook, which will definitely have the ebook addicts on DP drooling over themselves. I’m going in to college at 8.30 am tomorrow, and i’ve no classes until 11am, so i plan on putting the boot down and getting the majority of it finished in those couple of hours. That could change though.. usually i can’t work when i’m around people and they’re not working
I never add in links and bullet points and all that crap until i’m finished with the text. So still a long way to go… i like to cut things out and add bits in then for a few days and toy with how i word things and how they come across…
That’s just me being me – over fussy. But the end result should be one super ebook packed full of invaluable tips and links on how to make money online for EVERYONE. Not just people with webmaster knowledge or people who blog etc… this book will have something for everyone which is why i believe it will go down a treat.
Watch this space. This could easily become my biggest earner thus far and i’m not just talking about sales
