i’ve added google analytics to track roykeane.net. It’s only got like 10 unique hits today, 30 impressions but half of that traffic is from google 
which shows that people are finding it from searching for ‘Roy Keane’.
Also, on this blog, which gets way more traffic, about 25% of my traffic is from Google. Showing that my optimization is paying off. Organic traffic as it’s called, is far more valuable than inorganic traffic (i.e. people just clicking on your site to have a nosey, not really interested about it’s content).
Ultimately, google traffic therefore generates a higher CTR (click through rate) in adsense which means more $ for me
That’s the theory anyway… At the minute, i’m not getting enough traffic to prove that theory right but in time, i’m sure i’ll be able to.
