Work

Stressful Day..

Today hasn’t been one of my better days.. you may have noticed i’m a bit slow posting today, i apologize

Work was mental, had to come in an hour early 7.30am  and stay until 5pm. Long day. Something I hate. I then arrived home all stressed out at lunch time – i come home every lunch time to get away from everyone

Waiting for me were 2 packages. Great i thought. My ebay stuff had arrived in lightening quick time  Think again

Yeah sure, one was the 2gb micro SD i ordered from ebay (fair play to the guy for rapid delivery – 3 days!!), the other was a copyright infringement letter. Once i get everything sorted i’ll explain at a later date and in more detail. I’m not too concerned though, as it’s a gray area they’ve got me on or so i feel. Yes im in the wrong technically, but haven’t stolen content as such or in my opinion anyway. Put it this way, if somebody was using my material in this way, i wouldn’t take action and in fact i’d be delighted. But everyone’s different. So best not to talk too much about it for now until it’s all done and dusted.

More work tomorrow for me – 8.30 am until 6pm – lovely

Been reading your blog for a while – love your enthusiasm. I hope you do well with Beerchief – I will watch with interest.

And re: the hours you’re working – just be thankful for what you have dude. I could tell you a story about a customer i had in my shop today and a 2 year old child with leukaemia. I could tell you about how they are housed in a flat by Dublin City Council which is not good for the child in his current condition – how the Council are “trying” to get them a house.

How the father was told by his employers that they would accommodate him in flexible working so he could spend time in the hospital so his wife could take a break. He was let go from the job just before Christmas… I was feeling kindof crappy about my day this morning, was tired and not really switched on at all. This customer of mine made me realise “Jesus, I have nothing to worry me at all”. I learned all of this just by chatting with the customer while I was doing a job for them.

Sorry, I don’t mean any of the above as a lecture but just thought it might give you a bit of a different perspective on your 8.30 to 6 shift tomorrow.

Stay positive dude and again, really rooting for you and what you are doing with Beerchief.

    Thanks Alan.

Yeah, that puts it all into perspective.. i can sit and moan all day about work, but in reality i’m lucky to have a job and lucky to be in a position to be able to give it up and still live a comfortable life.

I suppose it’s all down to family at the end of the day. How you were brought up, how much cash your parents had etc. The poor get poorer, the rich get richer as life goes on.

I’ve had a debate many times before about private/public schools for example and how you can basically buy results and a degree, whilst the people you mention have to really earn it or mightn’t even get a chance to earn it due to lack of funds.

We all love the communist idea. It would mean we’re all equal and all have the same standard of living. But then that curtails productivity.. catch 22 situation.

The reason i bring up communism is that it’s the idea of sacraficing your wealth for someone else who’s less well off. Very few people nowadays would do that. So what im trying to say is that people know and see these families scraping by in life, but don’t do anything about it.
