mygadgetinfo.com update..

mygadgetinfo.com is the site i’ve made the most cash from out of all.

It *was* using RSS feeds as content for months, then it got hit with a copyright infringement case, so i had to pull all the content. For the last month or so, i had been using partial RSS feeds as content but traffic went way down and the site just didn’t look good.

So i’ve started custom writing posts and hand picking related videos from metacafe and youtube. It would take about 30 mins to get 5 related videos and add a bit of text on a post, so i figure it’s worth it.

So no more RSS feeds for mygadgetinfo, it’s for the best.

How is traffic reacting to the change? I’ve found with my new-ish photo blog that it didn’t take off as quickly as some of my other sites until I started putting more text in the posts. A picture may be worth a thousand words, but not as far as Google is concerned! I’ve got to assume the same goes for videos…

yeah google love text, but it’s impossible to write quality unique posts on a daily basis, so i’m going to try the videos and little bits of text and see how that goes.

at least i can’t be hit with copyright infringement cases  custom content, even if it is just videos and a line of text, also looks better for advertisers. I’ve lost one of my text link ads recently on the site, so i figured i need to boost traffic and maybe even PR come the next update. The only way that can happen is with some sort of custom content.
