I’ll never understand why more artists don’t go all out for Christmas..

I mean it’s the perfect opportunity to cement your place in history and have your song earning cash for all eternity.
Being honest, the last real legendary Christmas song was probably Mariah Carey’s ‘All i want for Christmas’ – and that’s going back to 1995, over 12 years ago.
Not many bands seem to care about Christmas related songs, and i certainly can’t remember any smash hits from the mid 90′s onwards..
The Darkness went all out a few years ago, big anthem type song which i liked and deserved to go to no.1 – ‘Don’t let the bells end’, but they were knocked off by Bob the Builder or something stupid like that
Then we had band aid 20 which was a shite version of the original band aid song so that doesn’t count imo.
Anyway, here’s my top 10 Christmas Songs;
- Fairytale Of NewYork – The Pogues
- All I Want for Christmas – Mariah Carey
- Don’t Let the Bells End – The Darkness
- Lonely This Christmas – Mud
- Do They Know It’s Christmas – Band Aid
- Happy Xmas (War is Over) – John Lennon
- Wish it Could Be Christmas Every Day – Wizard
- Last Christmas – Wham
- Stay Another Day – East 17
- O Holy Night – Kelly Klarkson Version
