what type of driver are you?

Here in Ireland our national roads are constantly clogged up by tractors, often at peaks times

This makes my blood boil as not only does it slow everyone down to crawling pace, but it increases the risk of an accident with people overtaking or not looking in their mirrors and overtaking etc.. i was stuck behind several tractors this evening coming home..

We need to update our tractors to these:

I actually slept in this morning and left the house at 8.30am. Normally it takes the guts of an hour to get to college.. I arrived at 9.15am. No tractors, no idiot drivers on 80km/hr pleasure cruises… just me and other guys going to work who want to get there in the fastest possible time whilst not breaking any limits. So thanks to those guys, i could bomb along nicely without having to brake every 2 seconds or break my neck trying to see around windy roads in an attempt to overtake the snails…

You see i was on the road from 8.30 – 9.15… they’re the guys that leave things to the last minute or arrive late.. they tend to be the fastest drivers ironically. So these guys probably start work at 9 and arrive at 9 on the dot.

Normally i’m on the roads from 7.30- 8.30am so i get loads of people who like to be early for work/school and these guys tend to be the careful/fussy drivers who won’t take any risks and are reluctant to overtake or accelerate hard.

That’s what i noticed today… the good drivers are the latecomers.

Anyway, i arrived at college to find no car spaces  typical (that’s why i arrive early every morning). So i toyed with the idea of parking in a housing estate but Dundalk ain’t the friendliest of neighbourhoods between clampers and the residents, so i ended up parking 20 mins away in a retail park in amongst other cars.

Clamping fee is €100 so i juyst said to myself “don’t take any chances, better walking 20 minutes than forking out €100″.

pagerank disaster for top bloggers

It seems the pagerank update is slowly but surely showing it’s face.. and it’s not a particularly pretty face it seems…

A while ago, i blogged about how JohnChow was chopped down by the PageRank police.

It seems TylerCruz has become another victim…

These guys are high profile bloggers.. they are controversial at the best of times and have undoubtably surfed on the crest of the ‘get paid to blog’ wave.

Google do not like that wave, as Google believe they have created the wave and the likes of PayPerPost and Text-Link-Ads are signing up all the surfers to use their equipment. So Google is now jealous and trying to get it’s own back.

TylerCruz has been chooped down to a PR4 (from a PR5). Chow came down from a PR5 from a PR6.

So nobody knows what Google is at, but one thing is for sure – Pagerank, as we know it, and as i explained it, has changed. It’s no longer about getting as many links as possible. I’d hazard a guess that google are now clamping down on unrelated outgoing/incoming links or any clear evidence of paid links/reviews.

I don’t think Tyler or John will be packing it in and looking for regular jobs.. but it’s certainly a kick in the nuts to see all the link building go down the drain (well, in google’s eyes). We then get back to the traffic – v- ranking debate which everyone has different views on… but boil it down to it’s simplist terms and traffic = money.

So for many bloggers, this update, at the minute, will be one to forget

i’m a blogger, get me out of here..

It’s been about 32 hours since i last blogged…

Believe it or not, that’s actually very vare.. normally i’d timestamp posts or look for reviews etc.. but i said to myself yesterday, feck it..

This blog is important to me; it’s a way to vent fury, make friends and turn boring, everday tasks into something creative and productive which may actually entertain some people.. So i blog out of habit, love..

But i thought yesterday i’d take a break. Not just from blogging but the internet in general.. it’s important to get out and clear your head once in a while.. just do something different.. there’s nothing worse than feeling trapped or feeling your week is turning into a routine, a chore.

Anyway, back to my normal 2 posts a day rule from tomorrow on  It was nice just ‘quitting’ the internet for a day or two, but i don’t think i could ever quit it permanently

Paper Watch – Week 4

Ok, you know the deal by now, every week i add up all the A4 pages i receive at college…

  • Pages this week: 28
  • Average per day: 5.6

Total pages received to date: 130

A bit of an improvement on last week, but still unnecessarily high  Im starting to notice a few guys also ‘forgetting’ their handouts and getting the same handouts again.. so that’s a real paper killer… getting handouts you already have

Anyway, 4 weeks in or 20 days, and i’m averaging 6.5 pages per day. Don’t forget this is a computing course, so every single one of us has access to the internet/computers, so in theory, we could all get the notes online. In fairness to some of the lecturers, they put the notes up on moodle, but others don’t/can’t/won’t learn how to use moodle and give us hard copies instead.

Doesn’t look well i have to say. A computing course in which some of the lecturers won’t use computers/technology :???:

Lunarpages Coupons..

Lunarpages Coupons ordered a ReviewMe review, so this is a sponsored post.

Lunarpages: What are they, who are they?

Lunarpages are a web hosting company located in the US. As it happens, this site is currently hosted on their servers  So obviously i’m a fan of Lunarpages, their prices and their service. If i wasn’t, i wouldn’t be a customer. For more info on recommended hosts check out my webmaster deals page.

They offer everything from basic shared hosting (a few bucks a month) right up to VPS and dedicated servers, so whatever your needs, i’m pretty sure you’ll find something to cover them with Lunarpages.

A lot of people harp on about how it’s best to have your site hosted locally (within the country)… that’s rubbish imo. People want the cheapest host, that’s reliable and provides good customer support when you need it. Lunarpages ticks all those boxes in my experience.

Lunarpages Coupons

http://www.lunarpagescoupon.net/ offer you discounts/coupons on all sorts of different hosting packages. You *can* find these coupons by googling and browsing about.. that’s the way i did it when i was first joining Lunarpages, but LunarpagesCoupon.net make life so much easier by displaying all the offers under the one roof  The site itself is a blog, hosted by wordpress, with a few posts displaying the codes you need when buying anything off Lunarpages. Pretty basic, simple, but it’s useful and that’s the most important thing  It helps us save money and therefore it can only get a thumbs up from me

Conclusion

Lunarpages Coupons provide cheap, reliable and a quick service. They are without doubt the best host i’ve used, and i’ve used a few. In bang for the buck terms, you’ll find it hard to beat them, and use lunarpagecoupons.net, and it stretches that bang for the buck even further
