how to get run over by a train and survive..

This has been hitting the headlines here in Ireland and the UK over the past few days..

It originally appeared on bebo, then someone uploaded it to youtube and it’s exploded since then..

WWSGD wordpress plugin

You may have noticed a new plugin i’m using..

“What would Seth Godin do” (WWSGD) is the name of this plugin and it was inspired by the man himself Seth Godin (entrepreneur/web guru). It can be found here, created by Richard K Miller.

Here’s a screenshot of it in action;

Basically, it uses cookies cleverly to highlight RSS feeds to new readers, then disappears for repeat readers.

So say i stumble upon my blog through a search engine – it will appear underneath my posts.. but for regular readers like me, it will disappear..

Pretty clever, eh? I’ve noticed my RSS numbers dwindling the past month, so hopefully this will help get me back up to the previous highs :lol:

July Earnings..

A few days ago, i said my earnings would be way down on last month..

July Earnings were $28.71, worst yet. All from text-link-ads by the way..

There’s a number of reasons for this;

  • I was away for about about 5 days in total by going to London for a couple of nights, Dublin too…
  • Everyone around me (girfriend, her family, my family) were all on 2/3 weeks holidays so i got dragged into days out here and there and spending more time with them in general..
  • July is always a cosy/lazy month for me.. it’s the middle of summer so loads of time left to work, it’s usually hot/mild which makes me tired…

Ok, so i was basically lazy and spent too much time lounging about shopping or away somewhere.. but this month i’m determined to knuckle down again and blog more, plus get BeerChief rolling again as we slacked off on that last month..

August earnings are on track to be smash all sorts of records as i’ve a nice little investment which is due to mature :wink: I said back then i’d hoped to double my investment, and whilst i haven’t quite done that, i’ve still made a nice little profit, but more on that over the next few days as i haven’t actually got the cash in my account yet. It’s come at a great time though as i can use it for BeerChief. :mrgreen:

Slovakian Challenge..

I’m a big fan of Irish soccer (internationals).

Last September i was at my first away match in Stuttgart, Germany.

I’ve already booked my trip to the match in Cardiff, against Wales in November.. thanks to some quick thinking i managed to get everything for peanuts..

We also have matches against the Czech Republic and Slovakia still to come.. it turns out, we’ve (the irish fans) have gotten a shedload of tickets for the slovakian game. At this stage, flights and accomodation are mad expensive as i didn’t get in early once the tickets came out.

So the challenge now is to find a way to Slovakia and back cheaply. I’m thinking Dublin-Stansted = €20 and take it from there. Stansted is a better base than Dublin. There must be some options from Stansted…

Anyway, i may or may not go.. probably the latter as it appears to be too expensive, but you never know, i wouldn’t right myself off just yet :wink:

11 weeks at no.1

Rihanna’s Umbrella was knocked off the top spot in the UK by Timbaland’s new song ‘The Way I are’.

I liked Umbrella at first, but then, like any no.1 song, it became over played and you just get sick of it.. 11 weeks was ridiculous.. no song should be at no.1 for 11 weeks..

I remember that wet wet wet song back in the mid-90′s.. it was the same.. all over the place and does your nut in eventually..

There’s not a single song i don’t get sick of after listening to it twice. How anyone can listen to the same song, over and over is beyond me :roll:
