London Itinerary

london.JPG

I’m still playing with priceline and bidding on hotel every day – never no more than $120 per night. Eventually, i’ll get somewhere, i just need to be patient and keep trying.

Anyway, i’ve already planned our time in London, here’ what we’ll be seeing/doing:

  • Wembley
  • London Eye
  • London Zoo
  • West-End Show

If we have time, we’ll go to Madame Tussauds Wax museum and possibly a cruise on the River Thames.. But i doubt we’ll get all that done as we’ll be walking about sightseeing (London Bridge, Buckingham Palace, Big Ben etc..) plus no doubt we’ll she’ll be shopping along the way :wink:

Less than 40 days now until we head off..

Full Time Irish Bloggers

There’s not many Irishmen/women like myself. Certainly none that spring to mind. I’m talking individuals here (not companies) that blog on a certain area like fashion or internet etc.. that post every day over months.. averaging 2/3+ posts a day… most people might scrape 1 a day, and a lot just blog every other day, but there’s not many like myself who’ll hit 3/4 posts a day on a regular basis.

It’s tough to keep that pace up, but you do get in to a routine. I gave up work over 3 weeks ago now, but i’ve hardly been sitting about doing nothing.. i’ve been blogging full time and trying to get this blog packed with unique content. In May I made over 100 posts which is quite an achievement :lol: I fully intend to keep this pace up through June, July and August also :wink:

You wouldn’t put your house on many irish bloggers to blog every day. In fact, im pretty sure i’m one of very few ‘full-time’ irish bloggers. I’d love to know how many there are out there, perhaps you lot know more than me :?:

I follow a lot of irish blogs, but i’m often left disappointed with a lack of consistency. I can’t log on to an Irish blog every day KNOWING that there’ll be new content on it. But i can go to johnchow, problogger, and lately tylercruz knowing that there’ll be fresh content waiting for me. That’s what i try do to first and foremost – keep the frontpage from going stale.

Surface Computers…

Wonder how much one of these bad boys costs :lol:

YouTube Preview Image

It reminds me of the iphone a little, all touch screen, scrolling etc.. i don’t believe that works. People hate scrolling and i know i hate touch sensitive screens and touchpads etc… I like my buttons and my fixed screen. What happens when it freezes up? Do i have to take the table into a PC repair shop :mrgreen:

My Adwords Campaign in May

Here’s a summary of my adwords campaign for May..

adwords.JPG

It’s over a bout 3 weeks.. and in total i got about 50 clicks.. all traffic is being driven to this page which is pretty evil as it means i’m getting the odd signup with Agloco or another network.. So in time, i’ll probably recoup the cost of these ads :cool: well, actually i’m using a free €50 adwords voucher, so they’re not costing me anything :lol:

Out of those 50 or so visits, i’ve seen an increase in RSS subscribers, got one or two Agloco signups and got an AuctionAds aignup under me, so the ads appear to be working. I’m also using VERY targeted keywords so that’s why the clicks are so low.

May Earnings

Here’s my May Earnings – worst so to date.. :sad:

TextLinkAds = $20.84

ReviewMe = $7.50

AuctionAds = $2.78

Adengage = $0.14

Bidvertiser = $0.08

BidClix = $0.05

Adbrite = $0.05

Total = $31.44

Assuming i earned about $50 in adsense (which i was on course for) this would have been my best month yet :roll:

But it wasn’t to be.. TLA is now my main earner and hopefully i can continue to sell ads on MyGadgetInfo and JPEGr.

June will be interesting.. i’ll probably settle on one adsense alternative (rather than run 5/6 different networks). At the minute, i’m leaning towards AuctionAds.. They’re owned by the Shoemoney and the same people that own TLA and ReviewMe, so i know they’re reliable and a quality network. For the likes of Bidvertiser and Adbrite etc.. you need really high traffic sites in order to get the clicks. CTR on all of them has been woeful, but revenue per click has actually been ok and just under what Adsense pay.

At least with Auction Ads, i know i’ll get targeted ads and there’s always the chance i’ll get one or two referrals to auctionads or ebay itself. The chances of getting people to click on the ad and place a bid are slim. But there is always the chance i’ll get one or two referrals out of it :cool:

Despite all this, i still picked up €800 i wasn’t expecting to get :twisted: That’s about a years earnings online :lol:
