2 new sites up and running….
if i did this every week, i’d be a millionaire by the time i’m out of college
rachelmcadamsfan.info & camel-spiders.info are up an running. Both are using RSS to build content quickly…
rachelmcadamsfan.info maximises the use of adsense (3 ad units, 1 link unit). The ad units are located in prime position, almost acting as a border to the main content. I’m taking advantage of google’s gray area in ads (images & ads next to each other)… Google suggest they don’t have a problem with images and ads next to each other, as long as there is no suggestion of a relationship between the two.
In order to cover my ass, i’ll probably make the ads bright/dark colours so as to seperate them from the images next to them. That can’t violate google TOS, however it will draw attention to the ads because they stand out in terms of colour, plus they are next to images which is obviously what i want as it will give maximum CTR.
Getting a decent google rank will be very difficult for this site. It’s not a blog so i’m going to have to wait to get indexed, hopefully the RSS feed will be viewed as fresh content which will give me a foot up over similar sites. I’ll have no option but to link exchange with celebrity sites in order to gain a PR…
a PR4, 100 uniques a day (organic traffic) and $1 a day in adsense is the aim for this site. I aim to achieve that within 4-6 months.
camel-spiders.info is the other new site… it’s a niche i stumbled across when searhcing on google for ‘spider bites’. Came across these ‘camel spiders’ and thought they were interesting… overture confirmed that many people thought the same
so i snapped up the domain name which is pretty decent imo, then installed wordpress, skinned it out, changed the permalinks structure, took an RSS feed from google news, then installed a random adsense script which displays 3 adsense ads in random sizes on random posts. Analytics is also installed.
I’m hoping this site can emulate roykeane.net‘s success. Which by the way, gets over 120 hits a day and over 80% of traffic from google, aol and other search engines.
So two new sites, two new adsense earners.. both are calculated niche sites and have steady overture results. Lets hope google takes a shine to them…
