10 new sites on the way

I said earlier today i was going to get back to business and do something productive.
Over the past 24 hours, i’ve been buying domains and researching niches. I’m happy to announce i’ve just bought my 10th domain and am launching 10 new sites over the next 2 months or so. On a side note, name.com do .com’s for $5.99 -v- Godaddy’s $9.99, GoDaddy have raised their prices since i last bought a domain with them
My goal is to set up 10 sites, create custom content on all and then sell them for as much as possible.
The 10 domains cost me $59.90. That’s all my expenses. I’m hoping to sell the lot for $500+, but i won’t know how much they’ll go for until all are up and i’ve created the content. If some take off, obviously i’ll hold on to them.
I was actually surprised to see some good domain names still available. It’s been ages since i’ve been domain name hunting and it’s always nice when you think you’ve grabbed a looker.
The best domains i’ve bought (imo) are:
- airscare.com (Air Scare)
- auctioncrap.com (Auction Crap)
The rest are:
- timetabletemplates.com (Timetable Templates)
- drunkbits.com (Drunk Bits)
- hotnowyournot.com (Hot Now Your Not)
- myretrogadgets.com (My Retro Gadgets)
- energeticallychallenged.com (Energetically Challenged)
- deadmanagerwalking.com (Dead Manager Walking)
- paperplaneblog.com (Paper Plane Blog)
- retroprogrammes.com (Retro Programmes)
Most of you guys will guess what sort content will be on those, they’re fairly self-explanitory and that is what makes a really good domain name - when you know what the site is about just by looking at the domain.
Obviously some aren’t so related or short, but i think i’ve done well overall with these domains. I reckon some, even with no work, are worth more than reg fee - particularly the two i’ve singled out.
So a day of creativity and business for me. It’s been a while since i did anything interesting and entrepreneurial like this, but smemon - the entrepreneur is back.
Honey, i’m home
Update: Thanks to mark, i’ve noticed a gramatical error in one of the domains - hotnowyournot.com. So i’ve registered the correct version now (hotnowyourenot.com). If i made the mistake, chances are other people will as well so it’s not necessarily a bad thing and it adds an extra little selling point to that particular site.

Awesome! Good luck with those. Stick with it and keep the sites coming
Will you try to monetize them in the meantime or just wait til they are ready to sell?

argh
dammit, i’m only seeing that.. *registers correct version*, it’s a pretty common typo/mistake anyway, so it’s not a bad thing owning that niche with the error verison plus the correct version.
thanks mark. So make that 11 domains bought
@knupnet, if they start getting traffic i’ll monetize them, otherwise they’ll be made to sell.

Some nice ones! I’m cutting down on the domain hoarding for the moment - I’m going to focus on the sites/domains I have at the moment, and work on them one by one (easier to manage
).
I’ve begun registering with name.com for the past three months, okay, they aren’t as well known as GoDaddy, and their Admin panel is a bit all over the place, still a fiver’s a fiver!
For hotnowyournot.com see yourself at an advantage having hotnowyourenot.com also, if people make the common mistake it will simply aid in the traffic of the site, through a redirect.
Best of luck with them…

cheers lads, this will keep me busy for a while. i have to say name.com is the easiest and best domain name management company i’ve worked with. IMO, they beat godaddy.
simple, easy to use and no-nonsense, with great prices. Godaddy’s panel can get a little cluttered.
